La Grave’s peak, normal way 3667 m
Meeting :
7pm at the Bureau des Guides des Écrins in Vallouise
The use of the Meije valley cable car, which effortlessly transports you to 3200 m, offers the opportunity to live a unique experience in the high mountains without sleeping in a refuge. The glacial difficulties of the first slope and the final rocky part, aerial without being difficult, gives this summit a real interest, which can be included in your objectives for a summer in the mountains.
Programm
Meeting with your High Mountain Guide at 7am in front of the Bureau des Guides et Accompagnateurs des Écrins in Vallouise, with your equipment ready for the ascent.
Travel to La Grave by car.
Ascent to the Col des Ruillans by cable car, then ascent from the Girose Glacier to the rim of La Grave’s peak. Ascent of the slope from the ridge to the top.
Return by the same route.
Ascending elevation: 450 m / Descending elevation: 450 m.
Rise time: 2 to 3 h
Equipment
– Mountain trousers
– Warm underwear
– warm fleece jacket
– waterproof and breathing jacket
– 2 pairs of gloves, bonnet
– warm socks
– sunglasses, sunscreen for face and lips
– backpack, middle size (30 to 40 liters)
– gourde (minimum 1 liter), lunches and snacks, picnic
– headlamps with batteries
– bed sheet. No need for sleeping bags (there are blankets at the refuge)
– alpinism shoes with stiff soles that can be fitted with crampons (check with your crampons before you hike to the refuge) (1)
– classic ice axe (1)
– crampons that fit your shoes (1)

Level
