Let’s meet the Chamois
Meeting :
Bureau des Guides et Accompagnateurs des Écrins in Vallouise at 5:30pm (5:45pm at Ailefroide). Appointment will be at 5:15pm (5:30pm at Ailefroide) in August.
From Ailefroide, a village located in the heart of the Ecrins National Park, observation of the emblematic animals of our area which obviously includes the chamois, in the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains at night.
Programm
– Departure from the village of Ailefroide by the Sélé path to the valley of Celse Nière. Towards the Plan des durs, the forest is covered with clearings and in the evening light the chamois move and eat after their rest during the hot hours of the day.
– Ascending elevation: 150 m
– Descending elevation: 150 m
– Total hiking time: 3 hours from Ailefroide, including breaks (breaks to eat, talk, contemplate, enjoy, observe). The breaks obviously reduce the hiking time. Return to the Bureau des Guides et Accompagnateurs des Écrins in Ailefroide at 9pm.

– Snacks (cereal bars, dried fruits,...)

The Bureau des Guides et Accompagnateurs des Écrins is in Vallouise La Casse, a shopping mall one kilometer before the centre of Vallouise from L’Argentière la Bessée, near the pharmacy.
